Completed in mid 2014, the brief for the Ascot Stables project was to design and build a stable facility that would blend in with the owner’s exceptional masonry home and look like it had always been there.
The stables have many features of the house, with the concession of the timber framing and ply and batten cladding, which naturally lend themselves to stable construction and offer a smart, yet cost-effective solution.
The two very generous stable have shutters to allow lots of natural light and ventilation, or protection from the weather, a tack room, feed room and float storage, with additional space set aside for a workshop.
The wash down area is incorporated in the large under-cover verandah.
